A day at the Water Park (W/Pics)

What a day! Today we went to the water park with Mark and we all had a BLAST! It was a beautiful, hot summer day, and a perfect day for the pool. Mark was a bit unsure of the water and very insecure in the water at first. I believe this was actually his first ever time in a pool. We tried to do the little army wingy things, but he really didn't like them at all. I figured as long as we'd be either holding his hand or actually holding him he'd be fine, plus a kid could just as easily drown wearing them. To my surprise, Mark quickly grew very comfortable in the water. In no time he was sliding down the little water slide (I'd catch him at the bottom) and jumping in the pool. He even asked to be dunked. I'd hold his nose, tell him to take a deep breathe, and down we'd go. We ended up staying at the pool for three solid hours... and I'm sure Mark would have stayed another three hours. We also had lots of friends at the pool today; my friend Stephanie, our new friends Patricia and her boys Eric and Chris, and our friends Missy and June Ann and their kids. So there were lots of familiar faces around. I am also proud to say that Mark stayed sun burn free! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for myself. I put a solid base of SPF 30 about an hour before I ever hit the water. And I reapplied with SPF 15 frequently (although I did forget about my back and face!) I ended up with scorched shoulders and back. Stephanie also ended up burnt from head to toe... but that's what SPF 8 will get ya :) But as long as Mark didn't get burnt. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch in the shade. It was just an all around great day. We'll definitely be returning to the pool very soon. And I might add that Mark fell asleep in the car in the three minutes it took to get home.

And yesterday we had a great day at our play group. I think my friend Patricia had a nice time as well. It seemed that just being around other moms and adults in general was great for her. I really hope this is a group that she can really connect with... I know what a blessing each lady has been in my life and I hope Patricia will be blessed in the same way. OH and Courtney had the kiddy pool out so Mark spent most the time in the water. He's quite the little fish these days!

This evening we spent some time with Bryan and Stephanie which is always so nice. And no news yet on Midland. *Sigh* Hopefully we'll hear something on Monday... its driving me crazy in the meantime. Please continue to pray.

*Nathan forgot to charge his camera battery, so he only took a couple pictures... and they happened to be in the sprinkler area which he was only at for two minutes of the three hours... and he's wearing the wingies which he also only wore for maybe two minutes... AND they are purple because Target only had girl colored wingies?!
