Brrrrr is all I have to say. I know its not officially winter, but winter has arrived in Michigan! The daily highs have reached the low 20's, but the 'feels like' temperature according to weather.com has reported in the low teens. Add the wind to it and you've got Brrrrrr! We've had more snow today alone than we had total over the past three years in KY. Between the snow already on the ground and the extra three inches today... we're definitely living in a winter wonderland. I'm not looking forward to the long winter, and I don't like the cold that actually stings your skin... but it is so beautiful. The snow is so light and fluffy. And every morning we see the tracks of friends who have come and gone during the night... A day or so ago there were deer tracks, turkey tracks, cat prints, and squirrels path. Then Nathan spotted what looked like bunny tracks. This morning there were two beautiful deer outside of our living room window munching on the neighbors shrubs. So for now, I'm enjoying the winter wonderland.
And I'm definitely feeling the Christmas spirit. We went to the town's ceremony where Santa arrives in town... takes his position in the Santa House (a permanent house beside the courthouse that is Santa's workshop year round) and then they light the courthouse. And throughout the whole thing... people are singing Christmas carols... kids are playing in the snow... and everyone is freezing their tushie off! Last night I went to a Women's Advent Dinner with my friend Marcia which was very nice and very festive. Now tonight we're going to the photo staff Christmas party at Nathan's boss's house. Oh and Tuesday is the paper's Christmas dinner. So we're definitely enjoying the current season. And I hope you are too!
