Warning

Do NOT see the movie Marley and Me. (Be warned I might give away the ending.) I began crying during the last thirty minutes of the movie and I have no stopped since. I started reading the book at the urging of my friend Stephanie. I hadn't quite finished, but Nathan and I both really wanted to see the movie. We did. And here I am. Crying. I don't have to tell you what happens. You can take a guess. But let me tell you that if you have ever lost a pet, prepare to sob. We originally wanted to go see it with our parents... that would have been a mistake. It was bad enough without my dad sitting beside me crying... I would have really lost it then. Ok, so it was a very sweet story. But I think because I could relate in so many ways, even down to the family of two boys and a girl. Let's just say tonight, I'll be snuggling with my Mimi real tight. I know she's not a dog, but she's this woman's best friend.

I had read the book a couple of years ago (and actually re-read/listened to it on tape recently), so I knew what I was going in for because I cried that much (probably more) with the book, too. My problem with the movie was that they decompressed the funny parts (as they had to, because it's a movie) but didn't really change the intensity of the sad parts, so, unlike the book, there wasn't enough funny to even out the sad. So, I guess I'm with you here - though I have stopped crying by now;)

I told you that it was a tearjerker.
