Moving Across Midland

Before I get into anything else, I wanted to say how fantastic the movie Slumdog Millionaire was. If you don't know anything about it, I suggest you check out the trailer.

Now on to the important stuff. Nathan and are about 95% sure we're going to be moving to into an apartment here in Midland. We like the house we're in and our landlord is fantastic. Living here definitely has some positives, but there are some other issues that aren't so nice. First of all, our winter gas bill is around $300 give or take. Although the summers are mild, there's way too much road noise here to have the windows open. There's not really anywhere to go walking, living on such a busy, main road. And I'm so over hardwood floors. They're cold and unforgiving. Carpet at least hides some of the dust and cat hair between cleanings... not wood. The dust and cat hair just sits there staring at you!

So... its looking like we are going to move into a 3 bed 1 1/2 bath apartment. Its in a apartment community but each building only has maybe 6 units... so it feels small. There's plenty of closet space, a nice balcony with room for a grille and chairs, and the rent is not only cheaper but it includes heat. We won't have washer and dryer in our apartment, but each building has three washers and dryers... we can deal with that. Our house right now is definitely nicer, but we'd like to cut back a bit and try to bank more money. We're going to go check out the actual unit we'd be renting tomorrow and hopefully make a decision.

As always, I'll keep you updated.
