I think everyone needs to have a nurse-friend. Marky's mom, Kim, is a nurse and has given me way more information and insight than anyone else. From what I understand, this cyst basically goes hand in hand with PCOS. Here what Kim said about the cysts,
"Ovarian cysts are eggs that are still encapsulated on the top of the ovary and won't release so they become cysts. We all ovulate several eggs each month, but one is released so the others re-absorb. You are not releasing one right now. Ovarian cysts can be painful, but the body usually re-absorbs them unless they are so big that they have to be drained. "
So my guess at this point is that we'll go in, make sure it doesn't need to be drained or removed, and proceed with the drugs we talked about at my first appointment. I feel so much better now, knowing that this uncommon with the PCOS, nor will it likely change the original treatment plan, unless we need to drain or remove the cyst. So right now... its more of a delay than anything else.
I'm pretty sure at this point, we're going to put a hold on fostering (as if we needed to make that official... its dragging on anyway.) I want to first of all be able to relax and focus on the PCOS and getting pregnant and also try to earn some extra money (I'm looking into picking up an afternoon nanny job.)
Thanks for your support.
