Meeting

OK. Some of you know this already, but Nathan is applying for a job. He is not necessarily looking to leave the paper, but its a position in the region we want to settle in, in a different type of environment, with a pay increase. He loves the photo staff at the MDN. And the thought of telling his editor that he was applying for this job was terrifying. You know Nathan... never wants to disappoint. But its a position that we simply cannot let pay us by without at least applying for it. We've been praying. Really hard.

Well... the perfect opportunity to break the news to John and Ryan came up today. Apparently there's a staff wide meeting tomorrow. Ryan was going to hire the fall intern today and was told by one of the big guys to wait until after tomorrow. Hmm. You never really know what's going to happen, but there's a chance that the downsizing may finally hit the MDN. So after their talk today... it was the perfect opportunity to say... by the way... I'm applying for another position. Ryan of course was completely understanding since its not out of the realm of possibility that they could all be out of work tomorrow. I mean, they'll likely gradually cut things, but you just never know.

Now I'm just overwhelmed with anticipation about the potential for all this change, which I have been praying for. Not specifics... just that I need something to happen. The meeting is at 8:30 am. and of course I'm going to be sitting by the phone waiting to hear what the meeting was about and what's going on. Nathan would do this, but I'd love for him to leave his phone on in his pocket so I can listen in. I just can't stand the waiting. As always, we'll see what happens and I'll keep you updated.
