What a day

Well... Nathan still has a job. This mornings meeting was as we expected. Everyone was to take one week unpaid vacation and they asked for six volunteers to take buyouts. The photo internship was also cut. But that's not to say there aren't going to be more changes and restructuring. Ryan, John, and Nathan are now all trying to weigh their options and decide how to proceed. Ryan's considering the buyout. And Nathan and John are pretty much going to be looking for opportunities elsewhere from here on out. If Ryan leaves... its bad. If John or/and Nathan leaves... its bad for Ryan and whoever is remaining. And this is just the first wave. Will there be a second wave? There's just too much uncertainty. So we're going to see how the job that Nathan applied for in Nashville plays out... and go from there.

Which we aren't sure how to feel about Nathan's chances at the Nashville job. I mean... we know that God can work miracles. But the pay is still low enough that wouldn't be very appealing to veterans in the field... not to mention its got to be someone young enough to understand the current culture and trends based on this specific job. So that weeds at maybe some more experienced people. I think Nathan's a definite contender within the younger folks with say under 5 years experience. We did find out today that an intern applied for the job. So if some of the competition is... well interns... thats encouraging. Nothing against interns... but an intern vs. MINPPA POY?!

We definitely are seeing God in all of this. There has just been one "coincidence" after another, especially with the timing of things. We, of course, know these are not coincidences, but God's perfect timing. Its definitely been a crazy, exciting, uncertain, scary, and stressful day. We're just keeping our trust and focus on Him.

And on another note... I'm not one to blog about our dinners as some people do. Mostly because I don't really do recipes... I tend to buy all kinds of stuff at the grocery store, then see what I come up with each night for dinner. I stay stocked on the steam fresh veggies so that no matter what crazy creation I come up with... we at least have a normal vegetable. Now I like salads enough... but I tend not to be all about the salad. I'm funny about dressings and lettuces and toppings. Well tonight we had the most, and I mean THE most delicious salad:

Organic (USA) mixed greens, organic (USA) blueberries, walnuts (USA), tomatoes (USA), kiwi (not USA or organic), a few bow tie pastas, and grilled chicken... I mean chicken that I expertly grilled... I mean the best chicken I have ever tasted in my life. It was juicy and perfect. And we topped it all off with Annie's Natural Mango Poppyseed Dressing... also organic and made in the USA. It was just perfect, yummy, nutritious, and almost all American grown.

The chicken may also have been so good because meets been absent in our diet over the last couple weeks. We've been making sure we get protein from other sources like beans, nuts, and fish. And its been just fine for us. But we don't want to completely cut out meet or anything.

I also don't have to work tomorrow... *big smile* It was such a crazy day that I decided to do something I very rarely do and that was enjoy some cheap wine... Arbor Mist that is. A glass and a half of Blackberry Merlot with a handful of blueberries added... did the trick. We try not to drink when we are feeling any specific emotion... since we already do that with food. And today was full of about every emotion possible... so I figured that was nonspecific.

I can't wait to see what I'm blogging about in three months. It could be our return to Nashville or maybe about the cold weather.
