How are we already in the middle of July? How can it be that Nathan and I will be celebrating five years of marriage at the end of the month?

The weather has been quite pleasant up here in the north country. I could have used a nice hot summer after the cold, long winter, but it has been nice having the windows open and getting lots of fresh air. Its also nice and cool at night. When I left for work yesterday morning at 7:15 am, it was only 48 degrees outside.

I'm now on the search for a 'sub.' I have a friend who may be interested, but I'm going to have to have a sub take cover for the many upcoming doctor's appointments. August won't be too bad, but the fall will be the most time consuming. Fortunately by then, the two older boys will be back in school and it'll pretty much just be the baby.

I also talked to my dear friend Marcia today. Turns out she had the same specialist in Saginaw and gave me the real deal run down. There's no better source than from someone who's been there. She gave me the scoop on the doctor... that he is very to the point and straightforward. No hand holding. While I definitely will need the support of our friends and family, I can deal with a doctor who is there to make things happen. And she was able to give me info like these appts will be quick and in Saginaw while these appts will be down in the Detroit area. She has also offered to accompany me to any appointment that Nathan may not be able to make it to. And she reminded me that we do have "family" in Midland. In fact, her husband tells people Nathan and Marcia are cousins... which they are not, but their families have known and gone to church together long enough that they might as well be. So that definitely meant a lot to me. The next most interesting blog will be after my first appt with Dr. Shamma.

This weekend we are cramming in a quick trip down south. Nathan is helping a friend shoot a wedding in Louisville. It'll be an opportunity to make some money and give us an extra little trip down to BG. The big trip to BG is planned for the beginning of the month which we are really looking forward to. That will be our official vacation of the year, so we hope it is one thing... relaxing. We both need it and especially based on what the fall is to hold.

I guess that's it. I've got "porcupines" in the oven for dinner so I guess I'll go.
