Crazy, Crazy, and Really Crazy

The past couple days have been pretty stressful. First we were moving into the duplex this weekend, then our current landlord was threatening to keep our entire deposit because he didn't get 30 days notice, so then we weren't renting the duplex, then the duplex landlord said he'd compromise and let us sign mid February which would give us more time and our current landlord 20 days notice. I understand our landlords position, but it was difficult for us because Midland is slim pickins' when it comes to rental homes... I mean slim! I'm just glad we worked everything our and we're back on for the duplex mid-Fed. Yay! Now to get all of our stuff packed up...

Another amazing thing happened today... we got our first payment from the girl responsible for the car accident back in the spring. $150 down $2850 to go. This is huge though. I never thought we'd see a penny. I'm very proud and grateful that she is doing the right thing back taking responsibility. Better late than never.

I also found out today that a friend of mine is having two babies... but not twins. Hmmm. How is that possible you ask? Well I met this friend during our foster care/adoption training. Her and her husband live in Lansing and went through the fertility treatments only to find out that she had collapsed tubes and would not be able to conceive. Well... in the meantime her husband's 17 yr old brother got his girlfriend pregnant. Neither of the kids were in a position to raise a baby, so they asked our friends if they'd adopt their baby. So this of course was a blessing for them. But during this time, his sister is also pregnant but hides it from everyone. (This is someone who apparently gave up three babies and kept four!) So she too asked if our friends would adopt her baby! The best part... both babies are do within three weeks of each other. Is that crazy or what? I'm very excited for our friends. I have do doubt they'll be great parents and have waited years for their family to grow. Oh and they'll have a boy and a girl. We're planning on making it down to Lansing sometime soon for a PF Changs date before the babies arrive. I guess I should be complaining about my stresses.

I guess that's all I've got for now. It seems like everyone's had snow or ice this week... so everyone be safe and stay warm!
